Saturday — in an effort to avoid all things BYU vs. Utah and also have a fun time with the family — we decided to go swimming. But somebody (I’m not saying who) did not have freshly shaved legs.
So we went bowling instead.
Everyone LOVED it.
We went to a place with a pizza joint attached and bowled a couple of games. The first game, to no one’s surprise, was dominated by ME! I kicked everyone’s but by about 30 points. What can I say? I rock.
But in the second game, Mandi figured out the motion a little better and her aim improved.
And she won.
Not just by accident. She got a couple of strikes, a couple of spares and kicked some serious daddy butt in the bowling alley.
Emily and Melissa had a blast, too. They had the bumpers up but by the end they almost didn’t need them. Emily was so lucky. I think she’s just got some good-luck charm in her pocket at all times because even if he ball was off target, she’d hit one pin and it would start spinning around and take out another six pins.
Melissa was jumping for joy as only Melissa can do every time she knocked down a bunch of pins.
And Sam, with a little help, really enjoyed himself, too.
Saturday’s are a little pricey at the bowling alley, but fun. We just might have to go back on a Tuesday or Thursday when the price is about half what we paid on Saturday.
Good Job Mandi, serving up some humble pie to your dad. Way to kick some booty!
What a fun outing!
Hey, Mandi, I bowled on a league in Montpelier when I
was pregant with Alison and had a “ball”. I got pretty
good too. Your Grandpa’s and my first date was bowling,
I beat him all three games, I guess you take after me.
Your Dad needs some “HUMBLE” pie. I’mglad you gave it
to him. Sure love you all. Hope you have a great
Thanksgiving at Vernal with your cousins. I think it is
someones big 40 this year, give her 40 kisses for us.
Love to all, Grandma
