We were released last week from our calling in the Nursery. After a year with the tiny ones, we have made a lot of small friends in the ward. We love it when they see us and smile and wave. We have not recieved any new calling yet, which means we get to go to Sunday School. And just sit there. Next to each other. While others do all the work of preparing the lessons, teaching our children, and making the ward run. Jared has been in the primary for most of the last seven years, and we’ve had very young children during all that time, which means that just sitting back and enjoying church has until now been just a distant memory. I know you all can relate. Now our youngest is 4 and we have no callings.
I don’t know how long this will last, but we are liking it while it does.

Don’t count on it lasting very long. The willing and the faithful never go without a calling for very long. I’m sure you did a wonderful job at your last calling and will at your next one. That’s just the way you are. If you put your heart and soul into it every calling is very rewarding. I’m trying to keep up with a bunch of eleven year old scouts. Its’sfun, but a challenge for one whose energies seem to be waning. We’re looking forward to seeing you this weekend.

Sounds like HEAVEN on earth!:)
Enjoy! I understand about having the little ones see you and know you. I think that is how I know the families in our Ward– not by the parents, but “oh that is Landon’s mom, or Malinda’s dad”…… I am sure they will miss you… but, I am happy you get to just sit and enjoy.
They may ask you in Relief Society and Priesthood if your new!
Rene 🙂
